I've never had a female cat so don't know from personal experience but one of my brother's female cats is a feisty one and was recently attacked by foxes after she'd been stalking some cubs on successive evenings. Sadly, she paid a high price and is too scared to venture outside alone now.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I once had 3 female cats and they used to fight each other. Myrtle and Mona never fought as they were mother and daughter but they both fought with Lucky who was actually there first.

I've had three females including Saffy and I don't think they start fights, they're usually the one's being set upon, but they will defend themselves when threatened. I had two females at the same time and if the older one heard the other shouting she was out of the house like a bullet ready to sort the aggressor out

Crikey no ... female cats will fight. We had one who used to absolutely terrorise a Yorkshire terrier. She used to leap out at the poor thing. And chase it relentlessly. She'd really give it what for if she actually got hold of it too.
And if you'd ever tried to keep a mum and her litter you'd see how vicious a female cat can be. Some are more tolerant but on the whole once the kittens are weaned the mum will see them off because she needs to get ready for the next litter. We did manage to keep mum and two babies but she barely tolerated them. Took a good few years for her to even be in the same room with them.
My Millie is a little spitfire! She doesn't tolerate other cats all. She has a very thick coat so the worse she has suffered is a claw puncture to her thigh thankfully.
Boots has just got up to have something to eat and is beside me on the sofa now, so I think he is feeling a bit better.
Good to hear Boots is feeling a bit better now Frazz . Our old cat Sukie lived till she was past 19 and I never knew her to get in a fight. If faced with another aggressor she would roll over and show her tummy. But the nipper, Sacha, he did not like other cats on his patch ( our garden and beyond) and there seemed to be a few neighbourhood bullies around...and then the fur would fly. As he aged he did become scared of going out and used to wait until dark, which wasn't too good for his kidneys!

I read your post with interest.
The mother of my two cats called Mischief (she disappeared a few years ago but that's another story) once her kittens were weaned and could eat for themselves, she would snarl and try to strike them. We could never fathom out why she did this. Mischief was also neutered when the kittens were six weeks old. We thought maybe that was the reason. Maybe Mischief thought she could have more kittens and did what she did.
So her two daughters Shadow and Pudding we kept. The two boys went to a good home. Both Shadow and Pudding were microchipped and neutered at 4 months. They both seemed to take on their mum's attitude and both to each other would snarl and try to slap each other in the face. I did wonder why they did that.
Going back to last Christmas when we moved house, Shadow went missing after a week. There was a sighting last night on FB cat page and my boss drove me over to look at the cat. We already had seen the picture and we are all sure it's Shadow. On our way over there the lady said the cat wasn't there at that time.
What it was, the lady has a dog but was feeding a couple of stray cats with some treats so didn't allow them in the house. So anyway we searched high and low and couldn't see the cat.
I really wanted to know one way or another. I'm sure it's her.
The lady is going to contact me if she comes back. I really hope she does.
We took on a kitten (Pudsey - what a stupid name for a cat!) a couple of years ago, our Millie hated him. He was a little sod but in a fun way, and liked to nip you and play fight with you. Sadly he escaped and was apparently lost forever as no notices we put up round the streets and on Facebook were responded to. However I spotted a grey cat that looked identical, albeit bigger about six months ago in the garden. It legged it when I tried to approach but I swear it was Pudsey. I've seen it since a few times at the top of the street, but for Millie's sake I've not persued it as it looks fit healthy and well looked after wherever it's staying.
Fingers crossed Pinky. A few years ago a friend's cat went missing for about 8 or 9 months, she'd done all the usual posters, notified rescue centres etc she'd given up any hope of getting him back when she got a call from someone saying they thought they'd spotted him in lorry stop about 6 miles away. She went there and it was him, they think he probably got into the back of a delivery lorry and jumped out when the driver stopped for a break!

I don't know why the two sisters would fight but mum being snippy with the kittens is normal. I wonder if the sisters were fighting for dominance. In a multi cat household one is usually "in charge"
I know when Alfie and Harvey were about 18 months old all hell broke loose for about 10 days. It was awful. They'd always played rough and tumble but this was nasty. Both big cats but Alfie was the smaller one and he was definitely the one who mainly started it. It stopped as suddenly as it started and Alfie became top cat. Or so he thought and for the most part Harvey let him lord it. BUT when it came to food it was very clear that Harvey was top cat. If Alfie had food that Harvey wanted, Harvey would just take it. Didn't happen that often because Harvey isn't that interested in food but if he wanted it, he just took it and Alf who was very interested in food just let him, no fuss, no argument.
They went back to playing rough and tumble and everything toddled along as it had before. They were litter mates though and they usually get on fairly well.
How awful @pinky We let out our two cats Eve & Meg one very windy October night & only Meg came back. Both were chipped. It was not knowing what happened to her that was so hard.
As for female cats fighting- I should say! Any cat in Meg's territory (which is half the village) was faced with a screaming, spitting red, white and black Banshee
