We ventured into Vesuvius when we went Capri. It was quite scary, there had been a landslide on one part of the cone not long before we went and there were active sulphur vents! That was in the early 70's. Fascinating though.

It looks spectacular especially in the night shots and I'd never heard of it either. Is it Stromboli that's been active every single day of the year for decades? I seem to remember reading that in the evening you can sit on the beach nearby and see these amazing volcanic fireworks, a fascinating insight to nature and our planet

Going back to Frazz's bridge, it looks very much like my Thailand one, but the scenery and more obviously the motorway gantries suggest this might be a closer to home location?
