I've just returned from my first visit to the High Street since before Christmas, Clinton Cards have 75% off all their boxed Christmas cards, wrapping paper and gift bags and 50% off all their single Christmas cards plus apparently my local branch is one of their buy 3 for the price of 2 shops which they still honour with the sale goods!
I'm now all stocked up for next year, bargain!

I think they had problems and closed a lot of shops Their cards were always extremely expensive and they must have lost a lot of trade to shops like the Card Factory etc, perhaps they were bought out by another group?

We had a Clintons that closed some time back and the premises were empty for ages. Now it has been replaced by another card shop which sells some very nice birthday cards and all accessories for half the price! Can't recall its name. My favourite Xmas cards this year were the poppy charity cards I got direct from the Royal British Legion.
I got a large bag of gold bows and rolls of ribbon from Sainsbury's in the sale. 60 bows but I can't remember how much ribbon ... £1.50. I am a happy bunny with that lot.
In the sales I buy the gift bags that are suitable for birthdays or Christmas presents and do the same with the wrapping paper, by buying the metalic red, silver and gold rolls I've always got enough for the whole year!
