Rushed Millie to the vet this morning about an hour after she had breakfast. I heard her yowling in pain and dragging one leg. She also kept opening her mouth wide without sound, which the vet said was a sign of stress and pain. Long story short the vet thinks she was bitten in the muscle, no blood or anything obvious. She had a couple of injections and there are tablets to put in her food for a few days.(Yeah, right!) She looks a bit sorry for herself tonight, but at least I know she is fit and well generally for her age, so it was worth the astronomical bill!
When we have had give our Millie tablets, we crush them to a powder and mix thoroughly with a favourite food - a tin of tuna usually works - and the tablets are eaten without fuss.
No idea who the culprit was, I was around and the door was open, but never heard a spat. I wonder if she hurt herself jumping down from somewhere, first time I've seem a cat in so much pain. She is scoffing tonight, and to my disbelief ate the tablet crushed to powder in her food. Fingers crossed that is not just a one-off.
Yes Nellie, two shots. One antibiotic and one for pain. I think she be fine in a couple of days, thank goodness.
Awww, bless her. When Kirsty attacked the huge mastiff, it came off worse but did manage to bite her hind leg. It didn't break the skin but was very painful and she was dragging her leg.She still sits with it extended and limps slightly. If I hadn't seen the fight for myself, I would have assumed that she had fallen as I would have expected a bite to have been obvious. ((( Millie)))
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
