It would make sense for me to have a walk-in shower, some friends have done it and I can see the practicalities. But I do love having a bath, the magnesium crystals do wonders for me after a busy day. Probably something I will do in the future.
I have baths although I do have a shower but, since the knee operation, I’ve had to adapt the way I now get out of it. 😳 That works so far but I can see the day when I either have to get a walk in bath or start having showers. I just use the shower to wash my hair at the moment. It’s an electric shower but is situated over the bath. Not my choice but I inherited it when I moved here.

I've got a full bathroom with P shaped bath that has an adjustable shower on a pole plus a rain shower head in the ceiling which serves all my needs at the moment. Like you I love a bath to ease my aches and pains but I am aware that the time may come when getting in and out of the bath safely, even for a shower may be too much so at some stage I'll convert my sizable cloakroom to include a walk in shower so I'll have the best of both worlds
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
I have not got a lot of confidence in Jones' electrical skills. Not since he had a problem with the wires on the immersion heater when we were first married. I touched the hot water tap and was thrown across the room. The very nice man who came to look at the wiring said some harsh things. Call it fate, karma or what you like (I call it ha-ha!) but not long afterwards he was fitting a new ceiling light while standing on a metal stepladder when he suddenly did a Rudolf Nureyev, flying gracefully through the air. He usually calls me now and says, "What colour is that wire?"
Recently the strip light under one of the kitchen cabinets failed and I suggested a nice day out in Ikea to replace it. I do like their Swedish meatballs with chips. Sadly, and unreasonably I feel, he turned me down and ordered a light from eBay. Of course they sent the wrong size! It was written in the stars they would. A month on and it arrived today. Tonight I went into the kitchen and turned on the overhead ceiling light. The light under the kitchen cabinet decided to join in & switched itself on all on its little own ...
I won't start the saga of changing the brake pads on 37's car today. I'm drained. That is tomorrow's story.
If I'm late coming on the forum assume we have no electricity
I just turned the sink tap on and the strip light came on
Himself worked out that the connecters weren't engaging properly, the wiring was fine & the light flashing on & off was activated by the vibrations of the washing machine. Whatever, he took the tube out.
Fortunately he has decided to take 37's car to Mike Mechanic. I don't think I could stand another day of DIY brake pads
