'The End.' Thank goodness. It's been a mammoth job, a continuous round of moving furniture and 'stuff' from one wall in order to paint it to the other wall to paint that side. The overflow went in my bedroom and it was imperative I put the light on if I had to get up in the dark otherwise I would do myself a mischief. The girls were here on Friday to sort/ save/ remove their carp treasures. They left with eight bin bags and numerous boxes of various sizes. Our garage has a similar number of bags waiting for a drop-off at the tip. What's left behind for a longer storage life fits into the wardrobe and drawers and there are only two storage boxes under the bed now. Yes, I still have a coffee table in my bedroom but I'm treating it as a bedside table until it's release from captivity. I'm not allowed to bring up what's in the garage (dining table, matching console table, pots & pans, ornaments ...) until 33 has bought a house. Oh, and there's a piano upstairs. It's been a tenant since we bought it for 33's 18th birthday.
I think it's fair to say both daughters have separation issues
We had same problem, Liv.We were the storehouse for 3 of the daughter's crap, treasures and the only way we got rid of them -the 'treasures', not the daughters, was to leave the country! Bit drastic, I know....but it worked and somehow, they managed to find space for them, after all. We had moved house twice before that, filling precious removal space with their belongings.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I wonder if girls are worse at hoarding than boys.
The men at the tip were very helpful. "What's in here love?" "I don't know. My daughters cleared a bedroom." And there he was, happily sorting through the bags
The second venetian blind is up. A very slow process it is too. Himself needs to come round in the mornings, think about it, look at the window for some length of time and then, and only only then, get to it. Three days off now until the third and last venetian blind gets fitted in the bathroom... Hopefully.
I like venetian blinds, but having a couple of high windows, they have become difficult for me to maintain and clean the window. I had one window replaced last year with an integral blind, it's great. I've regretted not have the bathroom window the same. I'm going to bite the bullet and change glass, I may be able to sell the existing sealed panels as near new.
Neither did I until my friends had them fitted in their bathroom. I went with having the main window in the lounge done last year after the blind fell down and knowing I am a step-ladder risk! The west facing patio doors will be next when funds permit. They are somewhat expensive, but come with a ten year guarantee and never need cleaning!
I have to thank you Frazz , because I told Himself all about these wonderful integral blinds. I even showed him the link I found. And do you know what? He fitted the bathroom blind today. I know! I was amazed too. I wonder what spurred him on
