There’s another one wanting to return. ‘ Jihadi fighter Ibrahim Ageed, 29, from Leicester, is incarcerated in Al-Sina Prison in Al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
He claimed Isis could make a comeback and said it was his right to return to the UK.’
Listening to the latest part of the BBC podcast, she is still denigrating her family, saying she 'felt unloved' when she decided to join ISIS, I bet that bit of spite has made them feel better.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
Gary Lineker has been branded a naughty boy again.
Presenter faces fury of BBC journalists and MPs as he refuses to delete tweet comparing government's migrant removal scheme to Nazi Germany - and 'won't answer the phone to bosses'
He "has gone from flogging crisps to self-appointed political commentator."
I think Lineker making Nazi comparisons was badly thought out even though the suggested methods of controlling the boat problem is callous and unfair (you can almost see the evil in Braverman's face on one photo).
As usual though, the right of free speech only seems to apply when everyone agrees with what's been said.
Free speech is a dead duck these days as far as I can see
But for what its worth the only way to get a grip on the issues with people trafficking and criminals entering the country under the guise of fleeing persecution is always going to be harsh
It has to be stopped and all the fannying about over recent years has failed so whatever is done is going to appear unfair on the genuine cases but I agree that people should follow the proper procedures and not enter illegally
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that this issue is getting out of hand, it has been so for ages. But the callousness of Braverman and her like are disgusting. This issue was supposed to have been dealt with a while back with the French policing their shores so that these boats didn't set off, but that seems to have failed or not been administered at all. Ship them back to France by all means, but not some hell-hole like Rwanda.
Is it though, genuine question, but if it was why would it be proposed as a place for holding people, that would make it doomed from the start surely
Because this govt have decided it would be an ideal dumping ground for these people, probably involving some sort or dubious deal with the Rwandan govt, though god knows what.
Apart from a history of genocide and the like....
Rwanda has been governed as a unitary presidential system with a bicameral parliament ruled by the Rwandan Patriotic Front since 1994. The country has been governed by a centralized authoritarian government since precolonial times. Although Rwanda has low levels of corruption compared with neighbouring countries, it ranks among the lowest in international measurements of government transparency, civil liberties and quality of life.
Decent weather though. Apart from the two rainy seasons February to June and September to December.
Something has to be done though and done quickly because its a matter of time before the whole thing kicks off, at that point people start to lose their heads and mob rule gets a grip
The public purse is being drained daily and we are getting less for our taxes than we have for years, obviously its not all down to migration but the cost of keeping people in accommodation for months on end is a massive cause for concern.
I honestly cant remember the last time I saw anything other than fit young men on these small boats, that cant be a coincidence. If people are removed immediately and processed elsewhere quickly then they wont get the chance to disappear into the so called black economy and the costs for keeping people will be kept to a minimum
I don’t particularly like having to think this way but I find it all very worrying
As you said earlier Yorko no easy answer on this issue, but I do not like the "send the buggers back to somewhere else" attitude that seems to be the stance of our current regime.
Those are the choices though - you either "send the buggers back to somewhere else" or let them stay here and drain our resources even further.
We all know full well that these are not political refugees or people fleeing for their lives - they are young, healthy looking economic migrants and have chosen to come here because the whole world knows what a soft touch we are. We can thank Tony Blair for this mess.
These illegal immigrants are paying for their passage on the boats bringing them here. Not exactly impoverished beings seeking asylum.
As a country we simply cannot afford to keep funding these people - we have plenty of impoverished people who were born here needing some assistance (young and old alike).
