Always seemed to be special, limited editions or TSVs and no clue as to what they might be worth in the future whereas Steiff Teddy Bears did seem to be worth something at auction.

However ..... I will confess to having a couple of Charlie Bears 😳 bought before their prices hiked up. They’re 6 inch ones.
Sorry T - didn't realise they appealed to adults.
Maybe I can’t be classed as an adult.
However, they’re purely ornamental. I don’t talk to them, dress them up, hug them or hold picnics for them unlike some of the “collectors“ who tweet in their photos during the shows. I’m sure that the two creators think the bears are human the way that they talk to and about them. All rather odd and creepy imo.
I do also have a small collection of 4” tall bears (not Charlie Bears) which I bought about 20 years ago. I’ve also got a 3” fully jointed bear that dad bought for me when we went to London Zoo in 1960.
So maybe I should be written off and filed under “child.” 😉
