Most of the teddy bears I own have been bought by or given to me as an adult! I have quite a few teddies and various other animals too. I hasten to add they have never had a picnic or anything similar but some do get cuddled reasonably often - usually when I am in pain or generally miserable.
(I only have one Kipling bag but I do provide refuge for unwanted monkeys. )
Kipling bags are too 'clothy' for me, I cannot touch them, and the leather onss are too expensive so I have never owned one. The only soft toy I have ever received as an adult was a giant panda, given to me as a Birthday present along with an iron by my first husband. As you can imagine, neither went down well and Mr. Panda found himself in the next jumble sale.
I wasn't keen on soft toys even as a child - again, too 'clothy' but I did have a lovely soft astrakhan rabbit which was called Ni**er, as was next-door's dog. How times have changed! For the better, obviously....
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
