In Russia you can't get car insurance unless you have a dash cam. I'm just amazed at how many people were able to walk away - or climb out of the windscreen
I reckon I should get a dashcam to record some of the idiotic drivers that pass me or try to get into my back seat when I do my weekly tromp up the M1. It amazes me that there are never any patrol cars or motorway police around, but I suppose that's why they drive like lunatics ..... because the police aren't there. In 1 out of every 4 journeys I make, I encounter an accident or delays because of one and it's usually down to people driving too fast in bad weather or not indicating when they change lanes.
Heaven help us if the drivers in that video ever come over here. It's a miracle that so many in the film walked away unscathed and thank goodness that they did.
I'm a confident driver but there are some serious loons about. I've driven in Greece, Spain and Turkey and they're mild mannered compared to the Russians lol.
The one thing that turned me into a more aware driver was commuting to London by car. You need nerves of steel and eyes in the back of your head. If they can cut you up they will. Oddly it also made me a much more relaxed driver. I wasn't prepared to do battle every day.
One of my best ones ever was fairly recently. I went round one of those mini roundabouts and only narrowly missed some muppet who decided to overtake me by going the wrong way round the bloody roundabout!! I missed him by inches. Bonkers.
