Two professional dancers have refused Covid jabs leaving other contestants reluctant to pair with them. The news comes three days after it emerged that a professional dancer has tested positive for Covid-19.
BBC should have made it clear a few months ago that selected professionals & celebs would be required to be double-jabbed. I'm amazed they didn't. There are plenty of pro-dancers and contestants who would love the opportunity to be on the show. In view of the close contact between partners, I would say the BBC are out of order and putting people at extra risk. There would be uproar if someone, especially unvaccinated, caught covid and subsequently died.

DS say some professionals had 2 year contracts starting last year which could be a reason for non vaxxed professionals in the squad. Others say it would not be the opening show without The Sun mixing it.

Interesting to see them paired up. Who is going to make the running?
The Guardian’s Week1 bingo!
Early wheeling out of adorable children Someone getting their first ever fake tan CGI hangovers from last year The joyful return of out-of-time audience clapping Pro dancers showing a disingenuous level of enthusiasm when they discover who their celebrity partner is, e.g. “OMG I’m THRILLED to be dancing with <insert new dancer nobody’s heard of>, he/she was EXACTLY WHO I WANTED”.
