Out to do the weekly grocery shopping this morning.
This afternoon to the Let's be S.M.A.R.T animal welfare house to collect Saffy, a little female kitten. We have also adopted her brother, Stitch, but he will be will us in a couple of days after one last vet inspection.

Vassilli is still mourning Alexi and the idea was to adopt a kitten in the hope he will have another little friend. However, we realise that he may not be mollified so we decided to adopt the brother and sister so that they will have each other in a household of increasingly elderly cats.

She made herself at home straight away and, so far, he has watched her play with interest.

To the Vet with Ruby. There's been a lot of tail swishing and curtseying going on. Last night she went to bite 34 when she ran her hand down Ruby's back. The Vet's best guess is that she's been in a fight, or at least trying to get away from trouble as her hind leg seems a bit tender & the claws on her both her back paws are broken and scuffed.
Ruby did not like being handled at all and made her feelings very clear to the Vet and the nurse who held her down. I stood by the door.

I'm planning on going to the common with Freddie shortly so he can have a gallop about. Been too hot to go this afternoon, it's still 26c, but should start to cool off in the next hour.

Non-locals are catching onto the place. I found myself chatting with a Scouser who had a Sprocker and curiously supported Ipswich Town.
