It was done yesterday, thank goodness, the towels are no longer smelly...
Now we are recovered we are making plans for the AGM in a fortnight.
Sam and I host it and the Athens Hash get the opportunity to vote for the (mis)management committee. There is a run and walk, followed by a meal which I have cooked, then the voting, then drinks in the garden while the more enthusiastic/energetic have karaoke.
I always have to make apple crumble by popular request and my famous mushroom tarts.
I will start planning what else to make, soon.

Hash was really good, not too warm and we ate at a beach bar afterwards -whitebait, mussels, salt cod, salads, baked cheeses, dips etc, wine and beer. 20 Euro per head as fish next to the sea is always a bit more expensive but it was all really delicious and generous portions.

It was beautiful. As we were winding up before we went to the taverna, friend Irene received a text from someone a 15 minute drive away, asking if we got drenched because it was raining torrents, there. There were rumblings in the sky and clouds gathering and we had booked a courtyard table for our meal. The waiters were brilliant, quickly moving tables and chairs around to accomodate 23 of us under cover. As we ate, there was a terrific storm but the sun was shining again as we left 90 minutes later. It was a meat taverna so we had village sausage, kokoretsi, liver, chicken, pork chops and meat patties as well as courgette croquettes, salads and loads of dips and relishes with toasted bread.wine and beer. It was 17.50 per head which included a generous tip.

I am preparing food for 30 Hashers today as they are coming here for our AGM. The Hash pays for all the ingredients and I am happy to devise the menu and cook. There will be 3 trails set - runners, walkers and swimmers. They will return here to eat,to drink, to vote for their committee, then drinks and karaoke for those who want to stay. The voting forms are amusing as the committee rarely changes as we can only really have people who live here full time or have the time to devote to it. It is multiple choice. I am the treasurer, in charge of all things financial and my title is 'Hash Cash'. The voter's choices are ~ 1) The board of Silicon Valley Bank 2)Grabbit and Scarper, chartered accountants 3)Hash Cash
Most of the Hashers were coming from the Northen suburbs where it was teeming with rain but it was still fine here. We got the heavy rain when they were on trail but the afternoon brightened up. The day was really great.
Nearly all the food was eaten and there was a lot of alcohol consumed and a lot of coffee, too.
We had a visitor from a Phillipines Hash who really enjoyed herself.
The karaoke finished at 5 and people gradually drifted away.
We break up fo 2 months now apart fom an occasional beach Hash as it is too hot in July and August.
