As it is something we organise year round and looking forward to our Annual Hash Spring Weekend which takes place on the last weekend in May, I thought I would keep all our activities to a separate thread .
Anyone interested in what takes up a good deal of our leisure time can read, or avoid.
I am in charge of accounts, taking subs, keeping records, so my title is "Hash Cash".
Things are gathering pace for Naxos next weekend. A friend from Kentucky arrives tomorrow to spend some time in Athens before joining us there. We have 4 Italian Hashers coming to Hash with us this Sunday who have been on our Spring Island weekends previously. They cannot come to Naxos as the timing isn't right for them but it will be good to catch up with them before they move on to Hash in Bulgaria.
Another longtime friend from U.K. is coming though, havn't seen her for a good 10 years.
We closed bookings when we reached 54 people as more than that is hard to manage and I am still liaising with caterers so I can can keep within budget. Printers informed me today that they will print our Tshirts tomorrow. Huw is a Welsh Hasher who does some great designs for us...
We booked every room in the Hotel so we can do as we please without bothering anyone or worrying about noise.

I seem to recall that previous Spring Weekends have been rather boisterous affairs with members of HM Foreign and Commonwealth Office dressing up and partaking of serious quantities of falling down water.
Sounds like a lot of fun but hell to organise - like herding cats.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.

I couldn't possibly comment....
(sounds about right but as a self-styled "Drinking club with a running problem", we have standards to maintain y'know)

The Greeks go to the polls today and we are having a city centre Hash as it is convenient for our Italian visitors. We will be in the shadow of the Acropolis at an ancient observatory

Hash was great ~ both walkers'and runners' trails were good and the food afterwards, was amazing. 16 of us went to eat, we had chicken fillet, BBQ chicken, pork steaks, sausages, souvlakia, Koftes, oven- baked veggies and poratoes, pita breads, salads, dips, wine and beer - 17 euro per head and our Italian visitors also took doggie bags of leftovers back to their B&B!
We are not long home and have emptied and sanitised the drinks coolers and got showered and changed.

Friend Gail is popping round for coffee and to pick up the spare key and alarm code so she can feed 3 of the cats over the weekend. the other 2, who are mostly indoor cats, will go to their "holiday villa".
Meanwhile, Sam has picked up the member's T shirts from the printer and I need to sort them into sizes and marry them up to the correct person by sticking labels on them. Every year, when signing people up for the weekend, we put in huge, bold letters "Order a bigger size as they run small ". Every bloomin' year half a dozen of them complain that theirs is too neat fitting and swear they ordered larger and I have to wave their booking forms at them..
The food we had pre- ordered from home and were served last night was amazing. All the Hashers commented on it and the owner/ cook burst into tears when we praised it.Phew !!
We are self catering and putting on a show here at the hotel tonight.
Our room is lovely and it is wonderful having the whole hotel to ourselves.
P.S. only 2 complaints re T-shirt sizing, told them it was tough luck.

That was one hellishly busy 3 days, though really enjoyable. We got back around 1am this morning. "pass me the bag with all the laundry in it" I said on arrival here "there are wet towels in thee and it will smell if I don't empty it out." We couldn't find it anywhere. Our apartment was up a flight of steps and we were ferrying things down to the car -huge amounts of Hash stuff as well as our own. I put the last 4 bags outside the door, took 2 down and said to Sam, "there are another 2 left to bring, I will pop along to reception and hand in the key." "O.K." he replied On my return, he was sitting in the car waiting, I jumped in, and off we sped. Needless to say, he hadn't listened and the bags were still outside the door. Fortunately, Vadim, our Moldovan and his family, are returning today and they have our bags with them as the cleaners had handed them in.
Apart from that, everything went smoothly. The Saturday coach trip to the runs and walks on another part of the Island ended up at a gorgeous beach.
That morning, Sam and I had shopped for bread, dips, salad stuff and local wines and on Saturday evening, we had pizzas and souvlaki delivered to go with the salads I had prepared and it was all lovely. We had a "guess who's silly/amazing story this is" as we played the first line on the screen we had brought. That was hilarious. Once people had finished eating, we had Greek dancing led by Tassos and Effi and this was followed by karaoke.
Yesterday was a red dress run, a Hash tradition, where we all either wear a red dress or at least something red. I am sure the locals were somewhat surprised as men and women in red tutus and dresses, ran through their town. This was followed by a fashion parade, which one of our ladies won.
We lowered the Hash flag as we sang our final farewell song and it all officially finished around 1.30 pm.
Some of the folk are staying all week and we have organised boat trips and suchlike but they are led by a mad American Hasher and nothing to do with us.
We are already planning where to go next year.
