I'm just watching a one hour show on C5 about the transformation of Michael from his late teens to his untimely death. Though in his interview with Martin Bashir he admitted to only two operations! But from his mid forties TV appearances showed him to be very uncomfortable about how he looked. Even to asking for mirrors to be removed from hotel suites.
In his public appearances promoting his final tour at the O2 arena he had a face covering hairstyle and huge sunglasses and the dimple in his chin was even deeper!
Its a shame that a man who changed the face of music over five decades had to change his face so radically as well.
Very sad. The first operation I thought was a good one because he was clearly very unhappy about his nose but the following ops just lost 'Michael Jackson' all together.
I loved MJ and all his music and believe he was a genuine, good, talented King of Pop, with a good heart who was thrown under the bus and had his life destroyed by false allegations from horrendous people who were after his money.
This song IS who Michael Jackson was. I have always thought that:
Another very troubled man. Talent and a troubled soul often seem to go hand in hand. The demons from his childhood appear to have played a terrible part in his obsession with plastic surgery. Sadly he didn't appear to want to like himself at all.
I read somewhere that he was horrified by seeing his father's face when he looked in the mirror and that was the reason he wanted to alter his looks.
Yes, they mentioned this in the programme...his father didn't come off too well in it either. A domineering, violent and controlling man who beat Michael when he was little, if he dared to answer back!
I missed this programme the first time round, only saw comment in the press but I watched it tonight on Channel 5 so it must have been a repeat. His denial about his surgery was breath taking & his sister's comments were rather hollow at times. Natural that she would want to portray her brother in a more positive light however. What a sad life. I fear that a younger generation will only associate his name with the negative aspects of his career and not his musical talent.
