A new Orb album is on it's way, they've put out a lead track. I cannot understand why all the recent Orb promo tracks have been wishy washy tunes with a female soul singer. This one is no exception, set to a drum 'n' bass style which went out before the last millennium. The last two albums have still been pretty good overall but I wish Paterson would knock tedium like this on the head. Oh and the video is like an advert for a phone or trainers.
There's been lots of excitement at the Fall Forum over a new band, HOUSE Of ALL. They're five ex-Fall members, Martin Bramah (1977-79) on vocals and guitar, Steve Hanley (1979-98) on bass, Paul Hanley (1980-86) drums, Funky Simon Woolstencroft (1986-98) drums and Pete Greenway (2007- the end) guitar. A new album is out in April and they've put out a promo single for our delectation. I must admit I winced when I saw Bramah billed as vocalist because I've heard him sing before and it wasn't good, but he does well here. It sounds like an ode to MES, and there's a spooky line at 4m 09s "Death is a grave mistake" which echoes itself and the echo sounds for all the world like Mark.
