It's New Order again, those bloody TwitterX polls just keep on giving. I never bought the 1986 Brotherhood LP, somehow it passed me by, but I'm going to put that right after listening to what could become a top 10 favourite NO track...
Spent my Amazon voucher today, hopefully wisely but there's a slight worry.
Firstly, I fancied The Orb's 'Further Adventures' 2CD+DVD from 2016 at Brixton Electric. The sleeve is stunning but having listened on YouTube, I avoided it due to excess crowd noise (no one wants "I asked for a Strawberry Mivvie" halfway through Backside Of The Moon unless Paterson edited it in himself) and poor bass sound. Reviews agreed with me.
So instead I went for another live show at the same venue from 2014. The sleeve is hideous but the sound is excellent and there's more than just the Ultraworld songs. Every song has been reinterpreted but not to the detriment of the original, but there is one concern. Has Youtube got confused because I know this album is rare as hen's teeth? The reviews for this release are the same ones published for the 2016 show, so I'm praying I get the right one delivered tomorrow.
TwiXter is now buzzing, alongside the Joy Div poll we now have a Manchester bands thread where you post a song a day for a month (if you can be arsed).
Yet another poll has been launched, The Cure this time, but there's a devious catch - it's b-sides and album tracks only so no bloody Lovecats or Close To Me.
