Being brought up on a farm with a flock of chickens and ducks, eggs were always plentiful. Sadly so was stale bread so this was often on the breakfast or tea menu.
Haven't had eggy bread for years, but my kids used to love it.
If you don't know how AF, it is very easy. My way was to soak a fresh slice of bread in a bowl of seasoned beaten egg till it's completely soaked in. Then fry briskly as you would with fried bread.
