Did anyone watch the first episode last night? I really enjoyed it, I read an interview that Aidan Turner gave and he said that following the criticism of Jamaica Inn's accents, mumbling and dark sets they were worried about getting it right which I think they achieved, at least I didn't have to resort to subtitles to understand what was going on.

Seems to be getting good reviews- I'm not keen on Romance so will be avoiding though I expect the scenery will be ace. Was there a Poldark themed park in Cornwall at one stage? I have a vague recollection from a holiday in Cornwall about 30 years ago
There was/is the Poldark Mine but that wasn't anything to do with the books/series. I don't remember there being a theme park but it wouldn't surprise me if there was.
I didn't see much of the original series I always seemed to be away at weekends when it was on and of course in those days recording it wasn't an option but I loved the books

That's not far from Daddy Tink. I'm guessing it was filmed more on the moor than in the town but I don't know. They were definitely filming at Porthcothan and the harbour scenes were filmed at Charlestown. I think they were filming at Porthgwarra too which is a tiny but very beautiful cove just around the corner from Porthcurno.
'Twas all in the local paper when I was back in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago.
