The weather bloke yesterday morning was telling us how unseasonably warm it was going to be this weekend, given that September 1st was the start of the meteorological Autumn.
This just goes to prove how out of touch these people are because as any fule kno, Autumn doesn't begin till September 21st.
I know it's been unseasonably warm over recent days, but please tell me this article is tongue in cheek rather than some idiot going through a paranoia attack?
Yes the planet is warming up, it happens every few hundred years and likewise it cools. This time last year it was about -6c and stayed that way till April, but as soon as we get a bit of warm weather they start bleating about global warming. It's cobblers, I remember 30 years ago they were insisting a new ice age was on it's way.
Batten down the hatches for Storm Freya! Met Office warns 80mph gales will hit this weekend with snow coming on Monday just days after UK basked in 70F record winter temperature
There is no snow coming on Monday or anytime next week, I have checked our local forecast and the Cardiff one. Cardiff will be wetter and windier but no snow. Stop reading the Daily Fail.
It's due to be 31C here today and 34C on Thursday. 😳 I loathe hot weather, as you know, but thankfully I'm not finding it a problem at the moment thanks to a cool house, fans or air con unit when required (although I've not used the air con since I moved here,) and imbibing about 2 litres of water a day. Being retired is also a bonus as the school was like a furnace, even in winter. And luckily, I'm sleeping like a log so my energy levels are ok.
If I have to go out, I go in the morning (I'm about to zoom to the shops to stock up on ice lollies 😉 and a few sundry food items) which means I won't have to venture out until Friday.
I'm praying for a thunderous downpour soon though because it'll save my having to faff about with the hosepipe in the evenings.
I hope everyone is managing to cope in the heat at the moment.
