I agree Berry McPaper-cuts Alistair Bruce made the point that Charles has been the next heir to the throne for 70 years, the longest-serving heir apparent in British history. I thought he looked very emotional at times.
Lots of highlights - respect to Penny Mordaunt for clutching that sword aloft for so long; lovely Greek Orthodox choir and wouldn't Meghan have loved the gospel singers.......
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I was reminded of Crackerjack when they started piling stuff onto Charles, robes , the huge gauntlet, orb, sceptre, crown. All he needed was for someone to place a cabbage precariously on top and mutter “ be careful not to drop anything, sire”.
We were on the same wave length Cass, I was comparing it to the Bucking Bronco Game where you had to load the mule up with as many shovels and buckets etc until it had had enough and bucks throwing everything off
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
I found the whole ceremony quite moving and the music was superb. I thought that it was quite poignant when Charles was stripped of the regalia and knelt down in a simple white shirt. I thought Penny was worthy of respect for the way she did her job and Charlotte and Louis behaved beautifully although I thought at one time Louis had disappeared. 🤔 George certainly did them proud as well.
I do like the Royal family (barring the two who don’t deserve a mention) but I wouldn’t have slept in a tent to experience it. I think we got a better view of everything by watching it on television ….. and the bonus was that we stayed dry.

I really disliked the gospel singers. There are some great gospel choirs but, to me, they almost looked like a parody and were out of tune some of the time. Greek Orthodox choir were a nice touch. I know I made fun of Penny but she looked extremely elegant and that sword stayed straight as a dye. The silversmith who designed and made the cross that led the exit was on radio this morning, it was beautiful.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I watched it on BBC America this morning. Enjoyed the music.
My great grandparents on my father's side came here from Brighton, England. My great grandfather was 18 when he got on a ship in London. His father and brother took him to the ship. In one letter I have to his cousin, my great grandfather said it was the last time he ever saw them. :(
Anyway, my step mother sent me a box of my father's pictures after my father died in September of last year. I've been going through the box and found many wonderful pictures of my great grandparents.
With them on my mind, I tuned in to watch this morning.

I was around as a 9 month old baby for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation but my silver christening spoon and fork are emblazoned with the details of the Coronation- might be worth a bit more than if they were melted down. I was quite happy to watch from home as you get a better all round idea of what’s going on. Mini FPMinor watched some bits whilst eating the very large M&S chocolate coin I had bought for her. Out of consideration for me wanting to watch the ceremony they watched at home but are coming for a Bank Holiday Sunday Roast today.
