BBC contracts of Clarkson, May and Hammond were to expire next week James May said the trio 'come as a package' - spelling end of BBC careers Richard Hammond calls it 'sad end to an era' in hint they may all leave
Without a doubt. The article says "Top Gear makes the BBC around £67million a year in sales, shows and other add-ons, an income now under threat after today's sacking."
It looks as if the Beep are trying to keep the programme going but those 3 made that programme so I doubt it will last long. I'm sure I read Stephen QI Fry was approached & Chris Evans has already said he's not interested.
Chris Evans has been known to do a U turn before now. I think he would be a good replacement presenter. Clearly bonkers about cars anyway.
Guy Martin could be a popular choice too.
One of the F1 boys could be a good choice too. David Coulthard? Jonny Herbert? Or Jenson Button if he doesn't get a drive next season? Damon Hill doesn't have the personality. Jake Humphrey maybe. He's already on the been payroll.
I think Top Gear will survive. Or at least the BBC will have a good go at trying.
I wonder if Clarkson is too controversial for Sky. Its whether their advertisers will back him. I can't see the big car brands advertising just in case. Advertisers are quite risk adverse. And Clarkson is gob almighty.

And too handy with his fists! I don't care how famous/ popular/ erudite or whatever the man is, he has no right to punch anyone. I don't think the Beeb could have acted differently in the circumstances.
I agree Min. If you were a producer would you want to risk a smack in the mouth if Clarkson didn't get a sandwich. I flipping wouldn't.
Years ago I rented office space from another company and two of the guys got into an argument, there was a bit of a scuffle. A few days after I called a meeting and explained that if either of them ever so much as threatened me I would call the police and that if there was another scuffle on the premises my rental contract would be null and void. And as I knew I basically paid the mortgage on the building with my rent I knew I could call the shots. They were suitably apologetic but quite surprised by my reaction. But I'm not working anywhere if any kind of altercation is condoned. Quite frankly my dear, bugger that !
I wonder about AngerManagement courses in his case. He's been controversial lately and perhaps he's been drinking, smoking or sumfink. He's a big lad who could pack a wallop, for sure. Intimidation/fighting with work colleagues isn't to be tolerated so action has to be taken, obviously.
