Some of you may remember me mentioning Brucie who came over from Cyprus? He's very happy in his new home and settled in really well.
Last week we were alerted to 26 Spinone in Italy that had been handed over to a shelter by a hunter as they were surplus to requirements. The poor things have been neglected terribly, and are now all looking for new homes. One poor girl is just too old to come over, so will live out her days with one of the volunteers there, the others are all being prepared for new homes. Vet treatment, neutering, being fed and finally given some love and care. I won't share some of their stories, it's just too upsetting.
Anyway, a page has been set up for donations, they need £10,000 and I'm happy and proud to say that in a very short space of time, there are 12 definite offers for specific dogs, other offers for any golden oldies needing a home and donations of £4350 already received.
They really are a great bunch of people, and I'm sure there'll be more offers and hopefully the target will be reached soon to care for them all.
There are some real beauties, this lovely girl caught my eye, but there's no way we can have another, the Princess just couldn't cope with a companion.
WOW! Donations are up to £6,700 with another £1000 in auction bids! I found 4 brand new items from Rocks still all tagged and unworn that I've put in the auction.
