Newcastle 1-0 Arsenil Alex Izaaak and Ant "Flash" Gordon combined in the 12th minute to give the Geordies the lead, after that not much happened apart from 78 minutes of stoic defending. It's great news for Eddie after a dismal run of shite while Arteta was once again caught blubbing.
Ipswich 1-1 Leicester A dismal match from two dismal teams. Cooper the Clown did finally field the team fans have been crying out for, only for them to disappoint with another show of incompetance. Ipswich took the lead on 55m and it looked to be over for us again, but sub Ayeeew who has not been amazing for us poked one home off Vardy in the 94th. Tractor Boy Kalvin Phillips got his marching orders for incessant cheating while Fat Abdul got away with hacking another muck spreader down in the box, the ref wasn't interested, and quite right too.
Liverpool 2-1 Brighton The Scousers came back from behind after going down early, but not till late in the second half when Gakpo and Salah inflicted three minutes of misery on the Seagulls. As Arsenil and Man City both lost today, Liverpool are back top of the table. There may be a period of teeth gnashing and inflammatory language during MOTD Yorko, but it will all end happily.
After a worrying first half when Morgan "Plus4" Rogers took Villa to the break with a lucky goal, things took a change in the second with a few substitutions. This rocked Villa who capitulated, allowing B.Johnson(!), D.Solanky (a brace - 2) and in stoppage time ex-Leicester turncoat Maddie to pop a few in, a majestic 45 minutes.
An incredible bore-fest in the first half as it finished 0-0, thankfully Little Kenko Diaz had other ideas in the second after Slot had bollocked them all for losing the plot. Yes the lad made a hat trick (that's 3) with Gakpo adding a fourth in the second half. Salah was on assist duty tonight.
Villa travel to Belgium where hopefully the Bruggers will have watched the weekend game where Spurs thrashed Villa magnificently. This will inspire them to do the same with any luck. I imagine Dick Emery will blame the fixture congestion should Villa lose, having played as recently as Sunday in another away game.
