I had a similar situation a while ago with an Ebay delivery coming from America, like Cass I had the email saying it had been delivered at 0810 am, I was in and no one rang or knocked. I checked all around the outside, asked the neighbours and even went down to the flat at the end of my road that has the same postcode as me and no sign of it, I contacted the courier who informed me it had been handed over to the UK Postal Service! I guess that as it's left their care their system says it's been delivered, it turned up a few days later but they need to add another option to their emails saying 'handed over to local delivery service'
Exactly DD! I could have even laughed about it if I hadn't been sneered at by Mr. Sarcastic. What is one to think when told a parcel is 'within your household', what sort of idiocy is that....
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
Yes I agree with Nellie and Frazz, my Hermes driver is actually a married couple who work together in their own vehicle. He roars into the drive and she jumps out and makes the delivery. They even gave me a Xmas thank you postcard and are usually delivering QVC. stuff.
I got an email this morning to say that a parcel via Hermes is due to be delivered today. The courier usually comes in the morning but the parcel isn't here yet so I'm hoping that it will turn up, especially as I'm away tomorrow until late Monday. Also, if it doesn't turn up, it's a lot of faffing about waiting for the non-delivery letter and then ages for a refund. I'm also keeping an eye on the tracking and if it suddenly declares "delivered and signed for by customer" I'll be straight on the phone because I haven't left the house today. I also want to go up to wash my hair but am hanging on because it'll be Murphy's Law that the minute I stick my head under the shower the doorbell will go.
Edit:
😀 It's just been delivered by my regular guy who looked exhausted so he's obviously had a long day.
I just can't watch it anymore Nellie, the presenters drive me insane lo1!
I have a look when there is a interesting link here and occasionally have look through the jewellery in Last Clicks. I might have a quick look at Vionic and Skechers shows sometimes, but then have a look at those sites as they are often cheaper, free P&P, and have half-sizes. Vionic give you 30 days to send back as well.
"Royal Mail and Hermes admit third parties get involved if a parcel is not delivered auctioning off bundles of 'lost' Royal Mail and Hermes packages on eBay"
