Problem with condensation pipe issue down to shodddy fitting, which will be sorted out next Tuesday, fortunately no more severe weather forecast for a few days. My new boiler needs new parts due to water being forced back up pipe by volume of storm water, that's being repaired tomorrow. Apparently, it is standard practice to fit condensation pipe to downpipes now to prevent them freezing, not sure they have thought through all implications of that.
The engineer has taken photos of fitting work for his line manager report and has told me to do the same when he returns on Tuesday. My kitchen floor will need replacing, but it's not bad enough for me to worry about right now.
