Both fledgelings still return to nest for fish, surprised no one saw the crows off!

Dorcha is grabbing most of the fish bought to the nest by Willow, a sign she getting ready to leave shortly. The chicks will follow towards the end of the month, followed by dad, time to wish them a safe journey I think. Going to be tougher for this years chicks to find fish en route down the country I would have thought. Hope we get to see them again in the future.

I think my highlight was Sarafina's first flight and subsequent crash landing on top of Mum.

Couldn't find a Red Kite live cam, so back to Loch Arkaig - 3 little chicks in nest 2.

It looks/sounds like Louis wanted to settle down on the nest too but Dorcha was having none of it and sent the lazy shyster out for more food. O_o

It does look bleak up there. One comment read...

It’s been unusually cold here with fresh snow well down on the hills and the temp plummeted to 7ºC this afternoon! Not great for tiny chicks
