Looking for somewhere to hide from the heat maybe Lily, not much for them to eat at the moment. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a slug this year, a few snails hiding in containers.
Yesterday I finally spotted the Collared Dove's chicks in my sister's garden, by my calculations she should have had them more than a fortnight ago so thought that either her eggs weren't viable or they'd been stolen and she'd had to lay a second clutch. Since helping her to build the nest her partner's been absent he's not even brought her or the chicks food so to all intents she's been a single mother, consquently she hasn't moved off the nest and we've not been able to see anything. Yesterday Mr Dove came calling and she flew off with him (floozie) and I managed to see the whole nest and she's got two sizeable chicks that have a lot of feathers so she must have hatched them at least 10 days ago, she was missing on and off this afternoon leaving them alone and they never made a sound
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
Cowslips are apparently quite rare these days lily , so nurture it.
Formerly a common plant of traditional hay meadows, ancient woodlands and hedgerows, the loss of these habitats has caused a serious decline in its populations and now fields coloured bright yellow with its nodding heads are a rare sight.
