Problems with my laptop, it won't turn on, the blue LED lights are on, the fan runs but the screen's blank! I've tried removing the battery to reboot it then starting it, tried it without the mains lead and then without it on battery only but no joy, anyone got any ideas before I take it to repairers?
Thankfully as I've now got my tablet I'm not totally cut off from everyone but it takes a lot longer to do everything More importantly as this site is saved as a favourite I couldn't remember the exact spelling then I thought of the email when it was set up, thankfully I'd kept it. The next problem was what was my log in and password, trial and error got me through that though. Oh the stress and drama I think I've earned a very large drink (or two)

Could it be a buggered screen? Can you plug in another screen to test it? I use my laptop as a desktop with a remote keyboard and mouse and a plugged in screen.
I hope you get it sorted DD. At least you have the tablet even though you probably prefer the laptop. I was completely floundering when Pinkie (Pink Netbook) got sat on. I only had the phone which is a very poor substitute. I was over the moon when I got Blackie for Christmas.
No it won't even let me log on, it just sits there with the fan running and a blank black screen,it was fine this morning. I had a look at a couple of on line support forums it seems to be a common fault with my model. Will take it in next week and see what the teckie guys say, hope it doesn't mean it'll be an unecomical repair and I need to buy a new one!

Thank God for the tablet so I can still be in contact albeit a bit slower with one finger and a much smaller screen (not good for the old eyes) when I had the computer scammers trying to hack in I didn't have the tablet and felt totally bereft so a kind friend lent me her old laptop! smash computer
