A most disappointing result because I predicted 1-2 on the FOF predictions thread. McGin was behaving in his usual manner and rightly got a yellow for his trouble. McTominay scored first for Scotland, having been absolutely hopeless for Man Utd all season, but ex-Scouser Shaqiri equalised soon after. Kieran Tierney went off with a terrible injury that could make it difficult for the Haggis Munchers later on, and for Arsenal next season. After the 5-1 demolition last time though, this leaves Scotland with a chance of progression if they can see off Hungary next. Feck.
Who thought it would be a great idea to have KO at teatime? A ludicrous time, Mrs M will have to prepare dinner AND wash up.
If we win we're through to the knockout rounds where we will be knocked out. I've predicted on the FOF Euro Prediction game we'll draw 1-1. This means we will probably win. Or lose.
Today's quiz: Which of these two is the most clueless?
Give me the child until they are 7 and I will give you the bigender: Aristotle 1984-2022
Absolute rubbish. This was an exact repeat of the Serbia match but Denmark are better than Serbia so we suffered the consequence. After a shaky start, nerves were calmed when Kane popped a delightful ball in and for another few minutes all was well. And then we sat back, as before, nursing the 1-0 lead. Obviously Denmark took the initiative, equalised and that was that. An hour or so of utter tedium, confusion and no one knowing what the feck to do. Players were bickering amongst themselves, it got that bad and eventually Southgate bought on fresh attacking players in Ollie Twotkins (Villa ), Eze and Bowen. I know nothing of the latter pair but none of them made any difference. I'll be away when our final group game is played, I probably won't bother. We will go through but screw up against Slovenia and we run the risk of finishing 2nd in the table and meeting Germany in the last 16.
