From reports on the news about England’s performance so far, they won’t feature in the final.
About right but stick with my reviews rather than those daft pundits. I hear Wayne Rooney is a pundit now that his managerial career is over.
Your reviews are interesting to read even though I don’t like football, although none of the players’ names mean anything to me. It also means that I don’t have to watch any of the matches but can still stay “in the loop.” So thank you for saving me having to do that.
Hate to say it, as I quite like the bloke, but Alan Shearer is a very wooden commentator. A decent one would still manage to inject a little excitement into even the most mundane game. Being a former player does not automatically qualify you.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

I found him hugely annoying during the Denmark game, it was his voice that was grating more than anything (and I don't mean the Geordie accent). Several times he came out almost word for word with what I'd just said and I don't claim to be any kind of expert whatsoever. England were absolutely world class when we played well for ten minutes, anything after that and Southgate hadn't got a clue, according to him.
Give me the child until they are 7 and I will give you the bigender: Aristotle 1984-2022
Have to say Wayne’s managerial career seems over very quickly. I wonder why?
I guess that's a rhetorical question Lily, but for the record Birmingham City (AKA Bluenose Shysters by the Villa fans) were doing OK in 6th position of the Championship, so the board sacked the manager. They appointed Rooney as replacement, following his disappointing performance at Derby County. Rooney subsequently oversaw the dramatic fall of the Bluenose Shysters from 6th place to relegation a few months later.

Just kicking off if anyone's interested, I know Sis will be rooting for the sporran spinners despite her protests.
Scotland vs Hungary
To progress, Scotland must beat Hungary and Germany must beat Swaziland, and somewhere down the line a 7 goal difference must be overturned. Failing this Scotland can only go through if they're deemed "best of the 3rd placed", including teams from all other groups.
