I agree with your summary. Mr. M. England played well once they had got into their stride but Spain were the better team from the off. No shame in losing to them, although disappointing, of course.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
My observation - after Spain scored their 2nd goal I said to Mr Lil ‘why are England just walking around the pitch and not attempting to equalise’ - perhaps a tad unfair but to me they gave up.
Not at all unfair Lily, they actually stopped pressing forward after scoring their equaliser, no idea why, maybe for some peculier reason they were playing for extra time with a view to further subs in case of penalties. Who knows, but if so it was a bloody stupid tactic that backfired. You cannot drop your guard against a team like Spain.
