I've always been crap at the Lotto Toril , I've not done it in years.
I’ve had a few small wins on the lotto, as well as a few wins on the People’s Lottery but a big one would be even better. 👍
I did have a win on the football pools in 1985 when I got 24 points, not that I watched football or knew what I was doing when choosing my numbers. It was pure luck that my crosses went into the right boxes. I didn’t even realise I’d won until the cheque arrived in the post. Mr Moody,
Keir Starmer is upset that he'll miss tonight's match as he's in Washington on important NATO business and it will be mid-afternoon US time when it's on. He's having his phone confiscated so as not to be disturbed during the meetings.
On the bright side he's reminded us that England have not missed a single penalty under a Labour govt in 2024.
England have played better than they have all tournament but they have been VERY lucky because that penalty was tenuous to say the least. Wrighty and Gary Neville almost came to blows on screen over it.
Well I have been well and truly proven wrong there, an astonishing performance!
Let me say the second half wasn't pretty, but fair play to Southgate for rightly removing the hopeless (for five games) Tripier in favour of Luke Shaw at HT. Tripier had (once again) been partly to blame for the Windymillers' opening goal and made several more mistakes. Holland were pressing us hard though and were much the stronger team until Southgate finally in the 80th minute took Kane and Phyliss off in favour of Coal Palmer and Ollie Twotkins.
And herein lies my pain.
See Twotkins plays for Villa but in the 90th minute, he took a lovely pass off of Palmer and slotted, nay, slashed home a wonderful goal to put England into the final. This also vindicated Gareth's peculier substitution tactics which the entire country thought to be plop, to coin a phrase.
And that was it. The Dutch were weeping in four languages at least. (MES, 1983, Tempo House)
