I am very nervous about trying anything new following a severe reaction in 2010 to certain products/ skin care ingredients. It took me a long time to pin down exactly what I was allergic to, what caused my eyes to run like taps, swell alarmingly & do a good impression Christopher Lee's vampire eyes. I think I've cracked it now but I am still very cautious so it was with some trepidation that I ordered and tried using alpha hydroxy acid - AHA.
A fabulous miracle worker that I never want to be without & it takes a lot to impress me. I've only been using it for 8 days but I'm blown away by the result.
It exfoliates skin through a chemical process & that helps to improve the appearance of sun-damaged, dry, and/or thickened skin allowing moisturizers to be better absorbed which results in clearer, brighter skin. It's supposed to improve collagen production but I can't comment on that claim. All I know is that the texture skin on my face is smooth & soft and the backs of my hands have benefited as well. You must use an SPF afterwards.
I tried it too Min. Didn't make much difference to the good but no difference to the bad either.
I do ... though I say so moiself ... have quite good skin so nothing really ever is a wow. On the flip side my skin is pretty bombproof so trying new things is unlikely to cause problems either.
I have never been a sun worshiper but I had noticed quite a few sun freckles hanging about in the Winter months. Not sure why this happened, but it did and it bugged me enough to take some pretty drastic home-made action that cured the problem. Alison Lung would keel over if she knew what I did LOL. Hopefully, this product will keep them at bay. In the meantime, all I can say is I'm pleased with my new find.
That was not me. I never suggested that because I know that it's only the Canadian version that had that particular magic ingredient anyway so all those poor people who bought it believing rubbing it on their faces would do some good were sadly mistaken LOL> Handy to keep in the medicine cabinet I suppose if you are prone to ... You know what.
