Alf is now in "hospital". It's a kidney problem. They think he's either eaten something that was poisoned or eaten something poisonous. The other possibility is kidney failure. They think given his age and how fast he's gone downhill, it's the former. But whatever it is the measure to know about the kidneys show that's he's in a bad way. 48 hours on fluids and then I'll know more.
Dear god my poor baby boy! He's the feline love of my life. I can't bear the thought that he might be seriously ill.
Òh Tinks, that's awful, you must be out of your mind with worry. I am keeping everything crossed that he will get better soon and to you and Harvey. xx
Oh poor boy, it sounds as though he's in good hands Tinks and the fluids will flush out any toxins in his system. The vets may also give him a steroid injection to boost the kidney function. I don't want to pre-empt but the symptoms our Sacha had with kidney failure were drawn out over several weeks and he became very distant and remote and completely off his food. Hope Alf improves tomorrow. Good wishes.
Oh no @tinkerbelle, I do hope Alf will be ok, what a worry for you. I'm sure they'll be doing everything they can for him. Fingers, toes and paws crossed.
We all appreciate how important he is to you and that you must be worried senseless but pusscats can improve so quickly once they are on the right medical regime.
FIngers crossed that he'll be fighting fit again in no time and for you.
