Not in the garden, but I’ve just had a large spider leg it across the lounge floor. Thank goodness my peripheral vision is good. It has now been dispatched.
Could be lily, or even a fox. I know someone in the town was asking if anyone had seen her pet ferret a few months ago. Never found out if she got it back. It was silent whatever it was.
There was something at the bottom of the garden that both intrigued and freaked the cats last night. They sat close together on the mat outside the patio doors for roughly three hours and just stared refusing to come in or even look at me when I spoke to them. I could pick up nothing in the torch beam so I have no idea what was so captivating.
That happens here, regularly, it can be quite unnerving.
Earlier, after investigating what was fascinating a couple of them, I had to remove a grass snake to a place of safety. Under normal circumstances, it would just slither away but it was in a corner of the garden with only a wall either side and it,and the cats, were staring fixedly at each other.
Cats were not happy, insisting they only wanted to play...
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
