Yesterday evening I proceeded to retire for the night at 10.30 pm. Upon opening bedroom door there was ANOTHER Bat flying around! (Whether it was the same Bat as yesterday I couldn’t say as they all look alike! OH was called and I left the room. He said it was behind the bed!!! We looked but could not see a thing. Therefore OH concluded it must have flown out through the very wide opened windows. By this time a fishing net had been acquired to capture the said Bat and release…
Out come the vacuum cleaner, room stripped and cupboards moved - nothing. Room put back together and off to bed. 25 minutes or so later, woke up Bat flying around, again, said fishing net was used, Bat captured and released. Off to sleep at approximately 1.30 am.
Fishing net will remain outside bedroom for a few days …
You could try getting some of the screens that you attach to the window frame, with magnetic strips I think, so you can open the window but nothing flies in. You can get them from Amazon. At least then you won’t spend the night bat chasing. 😉
I'm on a mission to kill flies that leave the outside to annoy me inside. I've become a serial fly killer & I have lost count of how many I have killed over this weekend alone. It must be a good year for flies. I am not allowed a fly zapper, not since I tested one out on a human. My promise not to do it again carries no weight
My rear garden light has just come on, it appears foxy is still visiting despite my covering the small gap in the gate that was for the cat. The only other way of getting into the garden is via two metre fences. This one looked smaller than my original nightly visitor.
The Bat saga continues - ‘Keef next door’ had a visitation from a bat t’other day! It appeared in his bathroom, persuaded it to go outside, or so he thought … .after soaping himself up and in the shower the bat appeared in the plug hole thingy!!! He picked it up in a towel and laid it outside in a safe place.
Yesterday OH was outside fiddling with garden implements when, what he thought was a leaf, appeared by his foot - it was yet another bat. Was put into the log storage thing and left to recover.
Hopefully, as this is the 3rd incident that will be the end …
