I've had it happen a few times with them flying into the patio doors. When they are young they only seem to see the reflection of the garden in the glass. It's very upsetting.

I don’t know if you’ve looked at the link I put above but it tells you a few ways you can stop birds flying into windows if you don’t have net curtains. I do have net curtains throughout the house, but with all the blooming cats I have wandering into my garden I think they put the birds off.

Following a piercing scream, I rushed to the garden to find Mrs M in a state over a baby hedgehog she found cowering beneath her bush. There were a few bluebottles buzzing around but the hog was breathing.

I've put it in a box with a bowl of water - I don't hold out much hope but we'll see how things go.
